Custom Coming Soon Pages Plugin is also capable of displaying a Count Down Timer if you plan to launch on a Specific Date. You can also let your users subscribe to your website so that they can get notified via email whenever you launch. Integrated Twitter and Facebook features lets your visitors follow you on these social networks until you launch.

19 Dec, 2009

cool ! lets make this fr joomla too … what says ?

17 Dec, 2009

I was have problems, with case sensitive host server, folder custom_xHTML replace it for custom_xhtml, and, line 95 cj-coming-soon.php same replace, that’s ok now !

17 Dec, 2009

Thank you! I’ve been having some issues with my site ever since I transferred from one host to another, and needed something to show people I was working on it, rather than a blog with lots of broken links and missing info. Not being very good with css or HTML, the idea of creating my own “Under Construction” page didn’t thrill me. This plug in is the PERFECT solution. Simple, and it looks great!
Thanks again!

12 Dec, 2009

Rather than uploading a html template, this is best solution for coming soon pages. Thanks for making this available foe free.

11 Dec, 2009

This is a great plugin. However, the login problems aren’t solved, even for 1.07. It still redirects both /wp-admin/ and /wp-login.php to the construction page.

Am I missing something? Please let me know. Thanks!

11 Dec, 2009

I hope you have installed WordPress on the root directory and the site url and blog url are same. Let me know if they are different and I will research on the same.

11 Dec, 2009

Yes, installed as such. Please check out http://www.climbingconditions.com.

Because I have changed the background to white, you can’t see the login link. Hover in the whitespace just below “RSS” and you’ll find it.

When clicking on the login link, it redirects to the construction page. Same probl for both /wp-admin/ and /wp-login.php.

Please let me know how to fix this. Thanks!

14 Dec, 2009

Any thoughts on the login redirect problems? Please let me know. Thanks!

15 Dec, 2009

Not sure, why its not working on your system. I can do some research if you can create an admin account for me to test on your server.

09 Dec, 2009

Sorry I’m new to all this, I created a file for the coming soon page called comingSoon.html and linked it to a style sheet csStyle.css

where do I put these files for my custom coming soon page to show? I know it says in the custom xhtml folder, but what do I need to call them / what do I need to replace etc?

Thank you!

10 Dec, 2009

You can replace all the files in custom_xhtml folder with yours, make sure the landing page should be named as index.php. Let me know if you face any issues.

07 Dec, 2009

There is a serious issue with this plugin when you change themes, ..i installed with the default theme and everything worked fine, as soon as i changed themes all config settings were lost and refused to save again. (sometimes appearing as if they had).

1.07 + wp2.8.6

To ensure it was not my theme i went back to default and also tested with whiteboard and a few other ‘out of the box’ themes. No Go.

This caused the form to break as the to/subject and other hidden fields set in the admin were not passed, let alone any of my styling.

Solution, ..i just hard coded the styling into the template file, and then hardcoded the values into the mail.php script in my template file.

This is a really nice plugin Mohit, but i lost a lot of hours and potential subscribers figuring this out, …and the confidence of my client in the plugin.

Sort it out and you are onto a winner as this is head and shoulders above anything else being offered, ..also perhaps consider create a table in the db and storing the email to be exported in csv with a check before sending for duplicates.

If anyone needs help with this plugin in the areas mentioned above just drop me a line.

07 Dec, 2009

This is causing my website to crash? i have to go into my ftp and delete all traces of this plugin for my site to go back live.

Its giving me a internal error.

I really want to get this plug-in working! as im working flat out to get this site up and running and not liking prying eyes somehow getting on the site. While i want to publicly start telling people about the site while having a nice design as a coming soon page!

05 Dec, 2009

Love the plugin idea. But I have it installed and activated and did all my custom options. How do I get it to show up on the home pages.

06 Dec, 2009

nevermind I figured it out.

01 Dec, 2009

Thanks for all the hard work :)
i just installed v1.7, it unfortunately still doesn’t allow me to register to the mailing list with IE 8

thanks

01 Dec, 2009

Have you figured out how to fix the Line 19 problem that gives a bad URL to wp-load.php?

25 Nov, 2009

Hey, I haven’t downloaded this yet. I was curious as to whether or not you can use feedburner with the email subscription?

Thanks,

Brandon

25 Nov, 2009

Email subscription form sends an email to your inbox with the details however, this functionality is not available. You can use feedburner form by updating the code on any theme you use.

Keep getting error message on activation of plugin in WP 2.8.6:

Anyone any tips?

24 Nov, 2009

I have tried all past versions of your plugin, problem is consistent in all versions.

A Suggestion for next version – ability to specify your own favicon or use default favicon from the site’s root directory.

24 Nov, 2009

Tested on another blog too…settings don’t update there also.

24 Nov, 2009

This Issue is also in 1.04 and 1.05

24 Nov, 2009

Also neither its using twitter/facebook and feed settings. Seems its not picking up the settings at all.

Nor it uses Meta descriptions and keywords entered.

24 Nov, 2009

Your plugin idea’s excellent. But I am facing few problems.

Like…it shows javascript errors on this line:

var liftoffTime = new Date(, – 1, , 0, 0);

Yes..date variables are not being used from settings.

Moreover, Image url is not being used from the settings menu. I have to manually enter the values in themes file. Its not using from settings menu.

Please fix the error. I am using WordPress 2.8.6

23 Nov, 2009

this is one of the best plugin for wordpress and very interesting because very usefull

18 Nov, 2009

Hi, Great Plugin! One problem. New fresh install of WordPress 2.86 No other plugins but akismet. The page displays fine. When I enter an e-mail address and click the “Notify Me” button, the e-mail never sends. It isn’t a spam or virus problem. I can send e-mail fine from Word Press. The 3 white/grey boxes in the bar move, like it is sending, but they never stop.

Is there a place to set the mail server, port, etc?

http://www.20daychallenge.com Thanks! Chuck cparish@penguinwebs.com

19 Nov, 2009

I believe there’s some issue with IE, I will check and update the same in next release.

18 Nov, 2009

This is a great idea. I just wish i could get it to work on my website. I am hoping that my wordpress installation is not the problem as to why it won’t work (the setting won’t update, timer is off, and so forth).

Anyway, keep up the good work. I am surprised no one else came up with this idea. its perfect.

18 Nov, 2009

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Please restore to default settings and update again. In case you still face any issues please list any errors you are getting at http://support.cssjockey.com.

18 Nov, 2009

Excellent plugin, is there anyway it can have a time out on the email sign up? For example, when I put an email in the box and submit maybe it can just timeout and say thanks even with no check on the sending just so people are reassured that it has gone through? thanks again!

17 Nov, 2009

Hey,

Thanks a ton for this plugin. simply love it. Moreover, i love your website. Great Work (Y)

Wish you luck.

Cheers,
Geek Domainer

18 Nov, 2009

Thanks, I am glad you like my work. I love the logo on your coming soon page.

16 Nov, 2009

Great work… Ive put up this idea on WordPress.org in their ideas section and people told me tht this great idea has been made into a plugin. And I really liked it…

Thanks again…

16 Nov, 2009

Thanks Siddharth, I am glad you like this plugin.

If you face any issues or have suggestions to improve it further please visit http://support.cssjockey.com.

14 Nov, 2009

thank you very much for the plugin. i have an issue though.. the mail function doesnt seem to work. the progress meter, after entering mail id, never stops.

13 Nov, 2009

hey is it possible to use a .swf file instead of the png file?

I know there are some issues with using .swf regularly in wp but I was hoping that something like wordtube might help with that but it doesn’t seem to

thanks

ps – great plugin :)

13 Nov, 2009

that is, can i use a .swf file for a logo instead of a regular image file?
thanks

13 Nov, 2009

Yes you can, You need to paste the code directly in the plugin theme files located at wp-plugins/cj-coming-soon/themes/theme-you-are-using

13 Nov, 2009

what about an option to hide/show the blog description?
and maybe a box to enter additional css styles?

otherwise brilliant plugin :-)

12 Nov, 2009

1.05 upgrade just completely crashed my entire site … not able to access … removed plugin folders via FTP and it was fine. Tried fresh install and crashed again when I clicked activate. Now there’s not even folders in my FTP directory to delete.

13 Nov, 2009

Please share your website url and any errors you are getting on the front-end. I would love to research on this and provide you with a solution.

12 Nov, 2009

Countdown Timer issue is fixed, it should work fine now. Version 1.04 is now available to download.

I really appreciate your feedback and support.

12 Nov, 2009

It would be ideal if the WordPress plugin included the 503 page header like in Michael Wöhrer’s Maintenance Mode plugin. Otherwise very nicely done for such a useful plugin.

12 Nov, 2009

Just wondering if anyone has an issue with the sign up email function never sending the email, just sits there with the progress bar? (Could be my main settings)

12 Nov, 2009

I just submitted the form to your website and looks like it worked, let me know if you get any email from my official email address.

17 Nov, 2009

hi
someone told me that when they tried to sign up in IE it just saying Please wait..
So I tried it in my IE 8 and it doesn’t work.
Could it be IE??

18 Nov, 2009

It could be however, I’ll check that and fix this in next update.

11 Nov, 2009

not sure what is going on. I have no other plugins except this one. Brand new install and this plugin is not working. Any ideas. I have even restored default settings and then enabled it and nothing.

11 Nov, 2009

Hi Mike, Please tell me what you see once you activate the plugin. Any error message or some strange behaviour?

11 Nov, 2009

When activated the screen shows this: http://i829.photobucket.com/albums/zz218/KinkLoxhart/AnimeRoarMangaBetaBlockedUnalligned.jpg

The information doesnt show up or the correct countdown, the custom image doesnt show up either and as the image states, its misaligned too

11 Nov, 2009

I forgot to mention, im using wordpress 2.5.8

11 Nov, 2009

Please upgrade your WordPress installation. The current version is 2.8.5 or its just a typo :)

12 Nov, 2009

Lol, typo my bad but ill try that thanks

11 Nov, 2009

It could be because of browser cache or wp-cache plugins (if applicable).

Try restoring the setting to defaults, clear the browser cache and save your settings again. Let me know if you face any issues.

Our support fourm is: http://support.cssjockey.com

11 Nov, 2009

this is perfect, l am using now and looks great. well done

10 Nov, 2009

I installed it and it works perfect, but I can not for the life of me figure out how to get back logged in as admin to work on the site. Even if I use the admin log in link I get the coming soon page.

10 Nov, 2009

Have you tried opening http://www.YOUR-WEBSITE.com/wp-admin it works perfect. let me know if you face any issues.

10 Nov, 2009

Hello,

I downloaded the plugin, activated it, and changed the settings that needed to be changed, but nothing shows up. Just the default theme and the welcome to WordPress message?

I disabled and enabled it twice to see if I didn’t save it correctly, but still nothing. Might know what the problem is?

Thanks!
- roxehmedia.com

10 Nov, 2009

@Roxanne: It shows the coming soon page to users who are not logged in. Open your site in a different browser or logout and visit the site to see it in action. Please visit CSSJockey Support Forums in case you face any problems, further, using this plugin.

I appreciate your valuable time that you took to download and test the plugin. Thank you.

10 Nov, 2009

Wow, do I feel silly. Hours of coding messes with your mind. Haha, thank you. Great plugin btw! =)

10 Nov, 2009

Try logging out of wordpress. This will solve your problem. :)

10 Nov, 2009

Great plugin CJ, you creativity is beyond genius, your vision is beyond beauty, your a master in the making…
Keep up the love.

10 Nov, 2009

Thanks Sensar, I really appreciate your feedback.

10 Nov, 2009

Hi, perfect plugin!
If you would like, I could translate to Portuguese-Brazil.

Thanks very much….

10 Nov, 2009

Sure, that would be great. Please send the translated files and I will upload them to the server. Thanks for your help.

09 Nov, 2009

This is a great plugin – but was wondering if it’s possible to disable the countdown timer? Sometimes you don’t know when you’re back up, and having the countdown time always display ’0 Days, 0 Hours, 0 Minutes, 0 Seconds’ is weird.

The same would apply to a parked domain, as the suggestion in the plugin description goes.

So, is there a clean way to disable the countdown timer?

10 Nov, 2009

Currently you have an option to create your own custom coming soon page however, I will include a theme without timer in next release for sure.

Thanks for your feedback and suggestions.

10 Nov, 2009

Thanks CSSJockey – look forward to it.

10 Nov, 2009

I have updated the plug-in with a theme without the countdown timer as per your suggestion. Download version 1.01 and enjoy.

09 Nov, 2009

WOW! This is pretty cool, wish I had it a couple weeks ago, I will hold on to it for future use :)

09 Nov, 2009

You are my favorite CSSJockey ! This is a very cool plugin. Thanks you for it!

10 Nov, 2009

Thank you so much :)

09 Nov, 2009

Great Plugin! I’ll try it immediately with a new site on develop!
Thanks

09 Nov, 2009

Hey Mohit!
You always come up with a unique Idea. What’s next? :)

Thanks for such a nice plugin.

09 Nov, 2009

Thanks buddy, there’s a lot in pipeline. Stay tuned :)

09 Nov, 2009

This is the PERFECT plugin. Exactly what I’m looking for. It looks fantastic but I’m running into a few problems that maybe you could help me with.

The following error is displayed upon activation of the plugin (although I can see the options and make changes): Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Error::get_item_quantity() in /home2/heylad5/public_html/bookbloggerconvention.com/wp-content/plugins/custom-coming-soon-page/cj-coming-soon.php on line 429

This is the resulting screenshot. As you can see title, message, twitter, rss feed is not displayed. http://blog.mawbooks.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/launch.gif

Any advice? Thanks. I’d love to use this. It’s fantastic.

09 Nov, 2009

Thank you for using this plugin, Please let me know the WordPress version you are using on this website and where do you see this error message.

11 Nov, 2009

I’m using version 2.8.5. The error message displays on the options page this plugin. Thanks!

11 Nov, 2009

To resolve this error, please upgrade the plugin to version 1.02 if not already and delete lines 430 to 446 in cj-coming-soon.php. Let me know if you still face this issue.

09 Nov, 2009

Great Plugin :)
I had a question , can we use this for a particular post??
For eg: I have written a post about a free giveaway then can i use it there , so that people subscribe and when the post is on , it will notify all subscribers.

09 Nov, 2009

Thanks, Currently its for the main domain however, i like the idea for custom post and single page.. I’ll probably work on another one for this functionality as well.

09 Nov, 2009

ok Mohit :) :)
I will be waiting for this :) :)

08 Nov, 2009

Very nice WordPress plugin idea !
:)

09 Nov, 2009

Thanks MoiMM. I am glad you like it.

08 Nov, 2009

I bet, no one has come up with such brilliant idea before this, we all need this but until now we don’t have anything of such sort. Super Cool stuff.

09 Nov, 2009

Thanks Shanker :)

12 Nov, 2009

I was wondering: will this work with WordPressMU? I would love to use it but want to know before I activate it.

Awesome idea either way!

12 Nov, 2009

It works on WordPress MU however, you need to activate it on individual blogs. Sitewide activate feature won’t work.

The plugin demo is running on a WordPress MU installation.

12 Nov, 2009

Thanks for quick reply- was hoping to use on admin theme till MU site was ready. Thanks for a great plugin anyway
