CJ Christmas Message WordPress Plug-in:

If you love to spread the Christmas cheer around, we’re sure you’d wanna get your hands on this first. This plug-in helps you setup a custom message with cool graphics for all your visitors. This message can be a welcoming season’s greetings or may be a news flash for the new attractions on your website.

It’s like putting up a placard and be assured to grab your visitor’s attention. It will leave your visitor’s smiling and looking for more on your web-site. The beauty of this plug-in is, once a visitor has come across this message they will not be given the same surprise every time they visit the same page. However, they will see this surprise message the next day they visit the same page. This is because the cookies are set to expire in 24 hours.

So, let us not stop you anymore, go ahead and be the first to flaunt it to your visitors.

There's a close link which will disable the panel for number of days you set for cookies, or you can also disable the plugin from settings as well.If you are facing issues with the resolution and placement of the panel, you can edit the styles to set its position from the top. Reply

The problem is that the message does not come up. Everything is funcioning normal. I think you don't have cookies enabled on your browser. This plugin stores a cookie which restrict the pop up to display again once its closed. Reply

You can update the styles for #xmas{} placed in cj-xmas-message/theme/style.css with the following code:#xmas{ position:fixed; width:500px; height:430px; top:100px; // Specify the top position in pixels left:50%; margin-left:-250px; overflow:hidden; z-index:99999; // This will bring the Santa on top } Reply

Nice idea but doesn't work for me. No message shows and I don't see any code in the page source. Tried it with JQ theme and with default and a couple others. Tried with Firefox, IE8 and Chrome.I have these plugins installed: Akismet, AStickyPostOrderER, Fast and Secure Contact Form, Google Analyticator, Lightbox Plus, SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam.Nothing too esoteric but some javascript that might be conflicting I guess. All plugins are up to date and so is WP. Reply
    1. Dec 12, 2009 / Stew:
Forgot to say: Settings seem to be saved OK. Plugin is activated and message is activated in plugin settings. I disabled all other plugins and still didn't work. Not seeing any error messages. Just seems that the plugin just isn't being called for whatever reason. Reply

Make sure your theme is coded right and has wp_head() and wp_footer() functions in header.php and footer.php files. Reply

Like I said: Tried it with default theme and several others. Plugin is not being called and therefore does not do anything. Reply

I hope you have the cookies enabled on your browser, this plugin requires cookies enabled and wp_head() and wp_footer() functions to work. Reply
            1. Dec 13, 2009 / Stew:
All cookies accepted in 5 different browser types. It's not a browser issue. Nothing of the plugin gets to the browser.wp_head() and wp_footer() functions are present in most of the themes I tested it with.No idea what the problem is. I give up on this one. Good luck with your plugin anyway. Reply
